VITICULTURE
The vineyard is situated at the foot of the majestic Langeberg Mountains resides Le Roux & Fourie Vignerons on Buitenstekloof farm.
WINE MAKING
Barrel aging takes place for 12 months in a selection of French oak barrels. Fermentation takes place for 14 days at 23⁰C. Yeast used – Zymaflore. Malolactic fermentation takes place 100% in barrel.
WINE ANALYSIS
Residual Sugar: 3.4 g/l; pH: 3.68; Alcohol: 12.5%; Total Acid: 5.6 g/l; Free SO2: 23 mg/l
TASTING NOTE
Our boutique style Pinotage infuses a combination of complex fruity aromas, with sweet spicy and peppery undertones, plumy sweetness with a fresh finish in the mid pallet.
FOOD PAIRING
Our wine pairs perfectly with curried Cape Malay dishes, bobotie, Sushi, venison and game loins done on the braai/BBQ with wild mushrooms. This is how Pinotage was meant to be, purely South African at its best.
